What is Risk Management?

We strive to enhance the school  communities of our members by embracing and supporting effective risk management strategies.  Within the following pages, you will find a variety of resources and materials to support these strategies.  

Managing risk is about making informed choices with regard to reducing the probability and or severity of an adverse event.  Effective Risk Management allows you to take risks and reach your goals more efficiently and with less disruptions.  MABE  provides its members with options to manage these risks through a combination of tools including:  review of historical loss analysis, hazard identification and risk assessment, risk retention, risk avoidance, risk transfer (through insurance or contractural vehicles), and training to raise awareness.
